F.A.Qs

What is your religion?

I am a liberal Christian who honors her Jewish roots (my father was born Roman Catholic; my mother Jewish.)

Why did you become an Interfaith Minister?

Because I am committed to interfaith reconciliation and a firm believer in the idea that our similarities (as people of faith) are more important than our differences. Though I practice only one religion, I honor and respect them all.

Will you perform ceremonies for people who are not Christian?

Yes. I don’t claim extensive knowledge of other religions (my seminary education provided only a broad overview of the world’s major faiths) but I am willing to do whatever research is necessary to give my clients the sorts of ceremonies that will be true to their own beliefs and ideals.

Will you do spiritual counseling with clients of any faith?

If, after an initial interview, I determine that a prospective client shares my essential values of tolerance and respect for all, I will indeed do counseling with a client from any faith tradition.

What is your position on same-sex marriage?

I am a strong supporter of marriage rights for same-sex couples and pray that the day will come when I will be able to perform legal weddings for them. Until that day, I will gladly perform spiritual commitment ceremonies for such couples, which may include, if desired, all the same elements as a traditional heterosexual wedding.

Are you authorized to perform baptisms?

Yes, but, since my ordination is Interfaith, babies (or adults) baptized by me will simply be baptized as Christians (not in a specific denomination.) With sufficient notice, I can provide a Certificate of Baptism.
